Accredited Chest Pain Center

The emergency department provides a broad range of services to meet the demands of our community. Our staff of professionals includes board-certified emergency physicians, as well as NIH (National Insitutes of Health) highly skilled emergency nurses trained in advanced critical care procedures and techniques and are now 100% NIH Stroke Scale Certified.

CHRISTUS St. John Hospital boasts a Nationally Accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and is the first hospital in Texas to be a participating hospital for all three of the American Heart Association's models of the Get With The Guidelines program: Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Stroke, and Heart Failure.

Our emergency care department delivers quality health care services 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We offer state-of-the-art central cardiac monitoring equipment, as well as support care departments including respirartory therapy, diagnostic imaging (radiology) and laboratory services.
