Pediatric Therapy
We offer highly specialized therapeutic care for infants, children and adolescents affected by injury, disease and conditions that range from autism and cerebral palsy to language disorders and Down syndrome.
Our licensed physical, occupational and speech-language therapists use state-of-the-art equipment and engaging techniques in outpatient programs tailored to each child’s individual needs. Standardized evaluation instruments, sensory integration and Praxis Tests help to assess and create personalized treatments.
Pediatric Specialties
- Physical Therapy: Concentrates on improving gait, mobility, gross motor functions and developmental skills. Treatments include coordination and strengthening activities, balance training, aquatic therapy and sensory integration (SI). Physical therapists may also assist with equipment recommendations and assistive devices.
- Occupational Therapy: Focuses on the treatment of upper-extremity conditions affecting fine motor abilities, oral motor/feeding skills, handwriting and cognition. Integrated care programs are designed to enhance self-help skills and activities of daily living, and may incorporate aquatic therapy and sensory integration therapies.
- Speech-Language Therapy: Improves or corrects deficits in speech, language, swallowing and cognition. Treatments focus on enhancing articulation, expressive and receptive communication, fluency, auditory and linguistic processing, oral motor skills, and pragmatic and social skills. Therapies may include computer-based speech and language activities and augmentative communication techniques.
